Original Laptop Musicians

Whether its behind the scenes or on stage, its not uncommon for performers (mostly, but not limited to, electronic or sample-based music) to have a laptop, possibly running a software like Ableton Live and triggering one-shots and loops. This video of Pet Shop Boy’s no. 1 hit and remake of Elvis Presley’s Always on My Mind, shows us that there was a time that performers integrated PC’s into their rig but laptops weren’t as accessible or powerful as they are today and desktop computers with hunkering CRT monitors had to be used instead.
